Studying a foreign language in public school systems results in 1000s of hours of inefficient time use since for most, they only achieve and low intermediate level at best. And if AI technologies will soon make automatic translation immediate, why spend so much of our youth’s time and potential on it? I out forward 3 reasons to support the continue studying foreign languages, but only if we can adapt our curriculum and use AI to make learning more efficient.
